9.  HCII-deficient mice are fertile

Crosses of homozygous HCII-/-animals in the mixed 129/SvJ x C57Bl/6 genetic background produced litters of similar size to those obtained from crosses of heterozygous HCII+/-animals.  Thus, homozygous HCII deficiency in both parents is compatible with normal gestation in a mixed genetic background.

Litter size is shown as the mean + 1 SD.
